What we are about

The Scales Club is a reptile and small mammal rescue ran and operated by students at Austin High School. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals that require help, providing a better quality of life, and to educate students in animal care and health. Our club strives to inspire the youth of AHS to care for animals and pursue jobs in animal care and health. We founded the club in 2023 and have rescued approximately 24 animals, with most finding permanent homes with members of the club who graduate. Our club is on track to become an official class at AHS, and we are the largest active club at the school. With this club, three of our members are working with a vet clinic and are on their way to becoming amazing veterinarians.
